Field Notes from Lisa

Hello! I'm Lisa, a multi-disciplinary designer living in Joshua Tree, California. I am obsessed with the desert, plants, beautiful design, helping others, and doing my best to do my part in helping preserve the earth and the life that calls it home. I am also the visionary behind Posy Laboratory.

With my experience in the local floral design scene, I have lent my creative direction and design expertise to cater to delightful clientele. Having over 20 years of business experience, I have owned and operated my own graphic/web/illustration design studio, nurturing a deep understanding of the small business industry. My green thumb extends beyond floral design, as I am a gardener focusing in native plants and desert/drought-tolerant plants with a little extra fun sometimes mixed in.

I am a strong supporter of caring and important communities, and I have actively contributed to the floral world through my previous involvement as the Web/Online Editor Chair Board Member for the California Native Plant Society Mojave Desert Chapter. Additionally, I served as the Board Member – Floral, for the Joshua Tree Event Collective. My passion for sharing knowledge and fostering creativity has led me to lead workshops, such as succulent terrariums and plant pressing, and demonstrations on desert ikebana.

Combining my artistic flair and art school teachings with my passion for flowers and plants, I have a unique eye for utilizing color palettes, texture variety, and beautiful presentation in my arrangements. My goal is to be an inspirational floral artist for the community and educator on eco-friendly practices.
