our values

We use materials that are reusable and/or made from eco-friendly components.

We are proud to be your eco-friendly florist and align with your values of environmental consciousness and sustainable, ethical production. We strive to keep accountability for the environment. Our eco-friendly materials are reusable, biodegradable, compostable, and free of toxic floral foam!

We make integrating native plants and other desert-tolerant plants – which are grown in the owner’s garden and never taken from other private and public lands – to create unique products a top priority.

Whenever we can, we integrate native plants and other desert-tolerant plants – which are grown in our garden, Mojave Garden, and never taken from other private and public lands – to create our unique designs. While we won't always be able to 100% use plants directly from our garden due to seasons and client preferences, we use them as much as possible. Your special florals may have given food to our local pollinators, birds and butterflies, as well as provided homes for other wildlife!

We compost unused or post-event plant matter.

We have had such success on our first compost bin we started years ago that we just recently added a second! We compost any unused or post-event plant matter to rework into Mojave Garden. Just another way we help reduce the impact the floral industry has on the desert and provide alternative solutions and sustainable floral arrangements.

We support LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.

Supporting communities isn't just a luxury; it's an absolute necessity. At the heart of our floral design haven, we celebrate individuality and weave connections, irrespective of one's background or path.

We stand shoulder-to-shoulder, elevating voices, sharing stories, and sowing seeds of compassion. Why? Because diversity blooms into strength, and we're committed to embracing the vibrant garden of cultures and viewpoints. We're here to create a sanctuary where all forms of love blossom. Your unique narratives infuse our dedication to inclusivity with a fresh burst of vitality.

By supporting each other, we nurture a garden of positivity. It's about mutual respect, empowerment, tending to an environment of empathy and resilience, and extending a helping hand during life's storms. Nurturing connections with kindred spirits cultivates a sense of belonging, inspires the sharing of resources, and fuels personal growth.

And never underestimate the profound impact of connections. With each instance of support, we paint a world vibrant with blossoms of hope and promise.

We work with local growers and small business vendors as much as possible.

We love working with local flower farmers, small businesses, and other vendors in our community! We’re passionate about creating beautiful floral arrangements for our customers, and are even more excited to collaborate with talented local growers and small business owners. If you’re a local flower farmer or small business owner who is interested in working together, let us know – we’d love to hear from you!

We’re committed to educating others on the plants used in our designs.

Education plays an important part of what we do. We're passionate about sharing our love for the incredible flora of the desert and how it enhances our designs.

Our very own Mojave Garden is the beating heart of our operation, where we nurture desert-grown plants that thrive in the Mojave Desert's challenging climate. From scorching summers to freezing winters, we carefully curate our plant selection to embody the resilience of this remarkable region.

We also select plants to grow in our garden that are adapted to the Mojave Desert's arid climate in order to conserve water, ensuring every drop counts. We've been sharing a few of these on our IG profile.

Our garden isn't just a pretty sight – it's a thriving ecosystem! A multitude of creatures, from roadrunners and hummingbirds to desert iguanas and red racer snakes, call it home. It's our special sanctuary for wildlife.

We've mentioned this before: we're not just green in our garden but in our practices too! We are committed to composting, and we choose eco-friendly and compostable materials when crafting our arrangements. When our garden can't provide, we turn to local flower farms, small growers, and floral markets to keep our designs fresh and sustainable.

In the past, our floral designer has taught workshops with topics that include native plant pressing and succulent terrarium arranging, as well as led demonstrations on desert ikebana.

Through Posy Laboratory, we love that we're helping redefine what it means to flourish in the Mojave Desert.

What do you want to learn from us?

We provide great customer service by caring.

Care is our heartbeat, woven into everything we do. From creating beautiful arrangements or tending to our garden, it's about attentiveness, awareness, and thought. Here are just a few examples:

We're passionate about preserving the natural beauty of the world around us. That's why we're picky in selecting our materials and designing our arrangements. It might make things a bit more difficult for us, but if we always choose the easy way, we will never make a change in the world.

Our artistic choices and selection of textures, colors, position, and shapes are guided by mindfulness, reflecting a thoughtful consideration of aesthetic appeal, environmental impact, and sustainability in every element of our creations.

When it comes to weddings and events, we take care in our choice of packaging for safe and eco-friendly transport. Also, we understand that events require meticulous planning and execution, and we're ready to go above and beyond to ensure every detail is taken care of.

In our garden, we've got plants surviving everything from summer heat to winter chill – because nature deserves the VIP treatment too.

When you send or snag flowers, we've got your back with care instructions. When you send them to a friend, they'll get info on keeping the arrangement looking fabulous.

And probably most important, how we treat each other and the planet matters. It's the core of why we started and what we're all about. Let's share the care!

We root our work in joy.

Joy. That word has stuck with me since before I started Posy Laboratory and was creating designs for others and for fun from my garden. It has followed along as I built the business plan, vision, and throughout all of the decision-making. My goal with Posy Laboratory is to help preserve the natural beauty of the desert while creating stunning displays that bring joy to the lives of those whose values align with ethical practices. I want that joy to inspire you to think differently – even if it's not always the easiest – about floral design, where your flowers come from, and in the choice of materials that go along with them. I hope the joy our designs bring inspires your personal connection and appreciation you have for nature's beauty.
