color, form, and an intimate “i do”: caroline + clay
Saguaro Ridge by FieldTrip, Yucca Valley
Caroline and Clay wanted the desert itself to take center stage, and the florals were designed to quietly amplify what was already there. With no altar or arbor, the creosote landscape became the ceremony backdrop.
The palette was bright, with fuchsia, chartreuse, golden yellow, pinks, teals, and soft blues layered in bold, color-blocked groupings that felt contemporary and alive.
Caroline’s bouquet focused on form and movement, with pointed blooms and textural elements that subtly mimicked the silhouette of Joshua Tree leaves. The design felt wild in spirit but carefully considered, romantic with just enough edge.
With a small, private dinner reception set family-style at Saguaro Ridge’s dining table, the bud vase florals created moments of pause and curiosity and the votive candles illuminated the celebration. The florals didn’t compete with the desert but conversed with it, adding shape, color, and rhythm to an already unforgettable setting.
sustainability notes
Every wedding we design considers what happens after the last dance. Below is a look at the sustainable practices used to give these florals a meaningful life beyond the event.
Unused flowers and plant materials were composted and later returned to the garden to enrich soil and support future growth
Rental items were returned to in-house inventory for reuse at future celebrations
Floral mechanics were either composted when possible or cleaned and returned to stock for reuse
Packing and transport materials were reused, saved for future floral deliveries, or recycled responsibly
Water used to hydrate flowers was reused to nourish garden plants
Compostable beeswax hemp twine or wire was used where possible and added to compost after use
Bouquet packaging was recyclable or reusable
Select foliage and blooms were cut fresh from the studio garden, including Fourwing Saltbush and Cat’s Tongue
