Flower Crown Station at Hotel Paseo:
A VIP Festival Brand Activation

A DJ standing at a DJ booth in front of an airstream. Neon signs of the Crocs and Journeys logos are on either side of the booth resting on top of large potted cacti. In the foreground are out of focus bud vases of flowers for a flower crown station.

Hannah Rad, Los Angeles-based celebrity DJ and TV host, cues up the soundtrack for the Crocs x Journeys brand activation experience on Hotel Paseo's Event Lawn for the start of Coachella 2026 Weekend Two.

Brand Brief & Festival Activation

We did a fun, exclusive desert party with Crocs x Journeys brand collab over at Hotel Paseo for Weekend 2 of 2026 Coachella Music Festival, where we took the classic festival flower crown and turned it into an interactive bar setup. JJ LA, the event production company, completely transformed a massive, dedicated outdoor space right next to the pool area, building out custom shoe styling stations, a VIP lounge, and a decorated Airstream trailer. Our goal was to give guests a quick, creative way to make their own custom look before heading into the main evening events.

Bud vases filled with flower stems arranged by the colors of the rainbow. The bud vases are on a white bar top. There are scissors and wire on the bar top too. To the left of the bar, there is a display of hanging flower crowns.

Pre-made flower crown bases hang on display for easy selection by guests at the Flower Crown Station. The bar top holds a rainbow of flower stems that guests can add to customize their flower crowns and a space reserved for cutting stems and wiring flowers.

How the Setup Worked

We wanted to keep the energy high and lines moving, so we didn't overcomplicate things. Here is how we laid out the experience:

Pre-Made Bases

We had crown bases pre-made so guests could skip the tedious structural wire work and jump straight into customizing.

Organized Palette

We arranged all the accent flowers in a bold rainbow spectrum right across the bar top, making it super easy to pick colors naturally. We intentionally kept a small number of stems per bud vase – when vases are too crowded, guests tend to get timid because they don't want to make a mess. Keeping things easy to grab initiated a lot more interaction, and we just refilled the low vases as the evening went along.

Ready to Help

Our floral designers stood by the bar to help people style, clip, or secure their pieces whenever they needed an extra hand.

Friendly, Encouraging, Relaxed Vibe

It was an open craft space focused on speed (so the station didn’t get bottlenecked) and intuition rather than flawless precision. Guests could build their own look or hand it off to us to finish.

Bunches of limonium, gypsophila (baby's breath), purple asters, and eucalyptus placed on a wood table surface.

Moving from the Day Activation into the Night

Because nothing was overworked, no two crowns looked remotely the same. Guests wore their custom pieces straight from the daytime activation space into the night, where an influencer made their DJ debut right in front of a beautifully styled Airstream trailer. The crowns ended up becoming a huge part of the evening party's actual aesthetic, driving a ton of organic photos. You can even check out the energy and see the crowns in action on (spoiler alert) Dixie D’Amelio’s Instagram post where she shares her recap of the event.
