High Impact Minimalism: Modern Tropical Desert Event Florals at Hotel Paseo

Floral arrangements were placed around the event area on bar tops and cocktail tables, designed for high-contrast visibility against white bars/tables and heat resistancy.

Loud Personalities in Small Footprints

You don't need a massive footprint to make a big statement. For an exclusive Crocs and Journeys brand party at Hotel Paseo, we designed mini cocktail table and bar arrangements that used the clean negative space and minimalism of ikebana to bring an upscale, street-style aesthetic to the outdoor lounge patio for Weekend 2 of 2026’s Coachella Music Festival.

Design Details

We wanted a bold, high-contrast look that felt right at home in the Coachella Valley without feeling generic. Here is how we put them together:

Foundation

Each arrangement started with a tough, hardy succulent base. From there, we styled bright accent florals to look like they were naturally sprouting right out of the living plant.

Circle shapes each containing one color of a palette. The colors include shades of green, purple, orange, hot pink, white, yellow, peach, burgundy, and light pink.

Color Palette

We went with a neon festival palette, mixing in hot pinks, purples, yellows, and oranges to channel a tropical-meets-desert vibe.

Primary Base

Lush greens and desert textures (cacti/succulents).

Accent Colors

Saturated tropical pops of pink, purple, and orange.

Visual Goal

High-contrast vibrance against white surfaces and desert-inspired textures.

Scale

The cocktail tables across the VIP lounge stayed low and sharp, while the main bar arrangements were scaled-up, dramatic versions of the same design to ground the busy beverage stations.

Standing Up to the Desert Heat

Working an outdoor event in Palm Desert means your flowers have to handle the weather. We specifically curated these blooms to stay fresh, resilient, and perfectly hydrated from the very first late afternoon cocktail pour all the way to the final music set of the night.
